چکیده

The present study shows results of friction stir welded (FSW) samples after different plastic deformation routes. welds were made coarse-grained and ultrafine-grained commercially pure aluminium. As a method new hybrid process has been chosen, which resulted in obtaining with characteristics microstructure, also differed dependance the examined plane. Microstructure observations showed that, regardless base material, due to continuous dynamic recrystallization zone was characterized by equiaxial grains an average size 3.5–5.0 μm. However, significant differences changes microstructure thermomechanically affected heat zones have obtained between welds. Microhardness profiles revealed decrease comparison initially deformed samples, but increase for annealed samples. Tensile tests In rupture occurred zone, while undeformed material. addition, application 3D digital image correlation, it possible observe local weld during tensile test. Additionally, electrochemical measurements performed two sizes working electrode, included microcapillary technique. higher corrosion resistance 3.5% NaCl zones.

Evaluation of microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir welded copper / 316L stainless steel dissimilar metals

In the present research, friction stir welding (FSW) process was used for butt joining of pure copper plate to 316L stainless steel plate. Mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics of the joint were evaluated by microhardness and tensile tests as well as optical and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was found that microstructure of the weld nugget (WN) has fine grains where...

Effect of Welding Parameters in the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Friction-Welded Joints of 100Cr6 Steel

In this study, high-carbon, chromium alloy steel (100Cr6) having the initial spheroidized microstructure was welded using the rotary friction welding method. The effects of process parameters such as friction time and friction force were experimentally investigated. The friction welded joints were produced of two 100Cr6 steel rods. In order to examine the microstructure and mechanical properti...
